Baccarat Rules

Punto banco is gambled on with eight decks in a dealing shoe. Cards valued less than ten are counted at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘gambler’. The value for every hand is the total of the cards, but the beginning number is discarded. For instance, a hand of 5 and six has a total of 1 (5 plus 6 = eleven; ditch the 1st ‘1′).

A third card may be given using the rules below:

- If the player or banker gets a total of 8 or nine, both players stand.

- If the player has less than five, he hits. Players otherwise hold.

- If the player stands, the house hits on a total less than 5. If the player takes a card, a table is employed to determine if the house stays or takes a card.

Baccarat Banque Odds

The bigger of the 2 totals wins. Winning wagers on the house pay out 19 to 20 (even money minus a 5 percent rake. Commission are tracked and paid off when you quit the game so be sure to still have funds around before you head out). Winning wagers on the player pays out at 1 to 1. Winning wagers for tie normally pay eight to one but sometimes 9:1. (This is a bad wager as a tie occurs lower than 1 in every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. However odds are substantially greater for 9 to 1 versus eight to one)

Played properly baccarat gives pretty good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Banque Course of Action

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has a few established false impressions. One of which is the same as a false impression in roulette. The past is not a harbinger of future events. Tracking previous results on a sheet of paper is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that surrendered its life for our paper needs.

The most common and probably the most accomplished plan is the 1-3-2-6 method. This method is employed to maximize winnings and limit risk.

Start by wagering 1 chip. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the game table for a total of three units on the second bet. If you succeed you will have 6 on the game table, subtract 4 so you are left with 2 on the third bet. If you win the 3rd wager, add two on the four on the table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th round.

If you do not win on the 1st wager, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the initial bet followed by a hit on the second creates a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a defeat on the third provides you with a profit of 2. And success on the 1st three with a loss on the fourth means you break even. Succeeding at all four rounds gives you with 12, a take of ten. This means you can give up the 2nd round 5 times for every favorable run of four bets and in the end, balance the books.
