Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued less than ten are said to be at face value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they strictly act as the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of 7 … five will have a value of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘1′).
A third card may be played depending on the foll. regulations:
- If the gambler or banker has a total score of 8 or nine, both gamblers stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart shall be used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have $$$$$ left over before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie usually pays 8 to 1 and sometimes 9 to one. (This is a crazy gamble as ties happen lower than one every 10 hands. Avoid putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are considerably better – nine to 1 vs. eight to one)
When played accurately, baccarat offers generally good odds, aside from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually an indicator of future results. Tracking of old results on a chart is for sure a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most accepted and almost certainly most successful strategy is the one-three-two-six technique. This technique is deployed to amplify winnings and minimizing risk.
commence by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the fourth bet.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
