Baccarat Chemin de Fer Rules and Strategy

Baccarat Principles

Baccarat is played with eight decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below ten are counted at face value while 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum of the cards, however the beginning digit is dumped. For instance, a hand of 5 and 6 has a score of one (five plus 6 equals eleven; ignore the first ‘1′).

A 3rd card might be given out using the following rules:

- If the player or bank achieves a value of 8 or nine, both players hold.

- If the gambler has five or less, he takes a card. Players otherwise hold.

- If the gambler holds, the banker takes a card on 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart is employed to see if the house stays or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 totals wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (equal money minus a 5% rake. The Rake is tracked and paid off when you depart the game so ensure you still have money around before you head out). Winning wagers on the gambler pays 1:1. Winning bets for tie normally pay 8:1 but on occasion nine to one. (This is a poor wager as a tie occurs less than 1 in every ten rounds. Avoid gambling on a tie. Although odds are astonishingly greater for nine to one vs. 8:1)

Bet on properly baccarat chemin de fer provides relatively decent odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Method

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has a handful of common myths. One of which is close to a misunderstanding in roulette. The past is not an indicator of future actions. Keeping score of past results at a table is a poor use of paper and an insult to the tree that was cut down for our paper needs.

The most established and likely the most accomplished method is the 1-3-2-6 method. This method is employed to build up winnings and limit risk.

Start by betting 1 dollar. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the game table for a sum total of three chips on the second bet. Should you win you will retain 6 on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the third wager, put down 2 to the four on the table for a total of six on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the initial round, you take a loss of 1. A win on the initial round followed by a hit on the second creates a loss of 2. Success on the first two with a hit on the 3rd provides you with a profit of two. And success on the initial three with a loss on the fourth means you are even. Succeeding at all four bets gives you with twelve, a gain of ten. This means you are able to lose the 2nd wager five times for each successful run of 4 rounds and still are even.
