Punto Banco Regulations and Strategy

Baccarat Rules

Baccarat banque is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below ten are worth their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the 2 hands that are dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The value for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, although the first number is ignored. For example, a hand of five and six has a value of one (5 plus 6 = eleven; dump the initial ‘one’).

A third card could be given out using the rules below:

- If the player or banker has a total of 8 or 9, the two players stay.

- If the player has less than 5, he hits. Players holds otherwise.

- If the gambler stays, the bank hits on 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart is employed to determine if the house stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The better of the two hands wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out nineteen to Twenty (even payout minus a five percent commission. Commission are recorded and paid off once you quit the game so make sure you have funds around just before you depart). Winning wagers on the player pays out at one to one. Winning wagers for a tie usually pays out at 8 to 1 but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties occur lower than 1 in every 10 hands. Avoid betting on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for nine to one versus 8:1)

Gambled on properly punto banco offers fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Punto Banco Course of Action

As with all games punto banco has a few general myths. One of which is close to a misconception in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of future actions. Tracking previous outcomes on a chart is a poor use of paper and an insult to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and likely the most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-6 tactic. This plan is used to build up profits and minimizing risk.

Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you succeed, add another to the two on the game table for a total of three units on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the game table, remove four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the third bet, add two on the 4 on the game table for a grand total of six on the fourth wager.

If you don’t win on the initial round, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first round followed by a loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you with a profit of 2. And success on the first three with a hit on the fourth means you balance the books. Succeeding at all 4 bets leaves you with twelve, a gain of 10. This means you can give up the second round five times for each favorable run of 4 rounds and in the end, balance the books.
