Punto Banco Practices and Strategy

Baccarat Rules

Punto banco is gambled on with 8 decks of cards in a dealer’s shoe. Cards under ten are counted at their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘bank’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum of the cards, although the 1st number is dropped. For example, a hand of five and six has a score of 1 (five plus six equals eleven; dump the 1st ‘1′).

A 3rd card may be given out depending on the following rules:

- If the gambler or banker achieves a value of eight or nine, both players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, she hits. Players stays otherwise.

- If the gambler stands, the banker takes a card on five or lower. If the player takes a card, a table is used to determine if the bank stands or hits.

Baccarat Banque Odds

The bigger of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (equal cash less a 5% rake. Commission are tracked and paid off when you quit the table so make sure you still have cash left before you quit). Winning wagers on the gambler pay one to one. Winning wagers for tie typically pays eight to one but on occasion 9:1. (This is a bad bet as ties occur less than one in every ten rounds. Be cautious of gambling on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 versus 8:1)

Wagered on properly baccarat gives relatively decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Banque Course of Action

As with all games Baccarat has some general false impressions. One of which is close to a myth in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of events yet to happen. Recording previous results at a table is a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that was cut down for our paper desires.

The most familiar and likely the most successful method is the one-three-two-six plan. This method is used to build up profits and minimizing risk.

Start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a sum of three dollars on the second bet. If you win you will hold 6 on the game table, remove four so you have 2 on the third round. If you succeed on the 3rd round, deposit 2 on the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th round.

If you lose on the initial wager, you take a hit of 1. A win on the 1st wager followed by a loss on the second creates a loss of two. Success on the initial 2 with a defeat on the 3rd gives you with a gain of 2. And wins on the initial 3 with a loss on the 4th means you break even. Winning at all four wagers gives you with 12, a gain of 10. This means you are able to lose the 2nd wager 5 times for each favorable streak of 4 rounds and still experience no loss.
