Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than 10 are of their printed number and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they only appear as the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for any hand will be the total of the two cards, but the very first digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven … five will have a total of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A third card may be dealt depending on the foll. standards:
- If the player or banker has a total score of eight or nine, each gamblers stand.
- If the player has five or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful stakes on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so make sure that you have dollars still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie normally pay out eight to 1 but on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a terrible bet as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. Still, odds are remarkably better – 9 to one vs. eight to one)
When done accurately, baccarat presents generally good odds, away from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Tactics
As with most games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not an actual indicator of future events. Staying abreast of prior outcomes on a chart is simply a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most commonly used and probably most successful technique is the one-three-2-6 method. This scheme is employed to increase payout and minimizing risk.
start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the fourth wager.
If you lose on the 1st bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
