Punto Banco Policies
Baccarat is wagered on with eight decks in a shoe. Cards below ten are worth their printed value and with 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The value for every hand is the sum total of the cards, although the beginning number is dropped. For example, a hand of five and six has a value of one (5 plus six = eleven; drop the first ‘one’).
A 3rd card will be given out based on the rules below:
- If the gambler or bank gets a score of eight or 9, the two players stay.
- If the player has less than five, she hits. Players otherwise stand.
- If the player holds, the bank hits on a value less than five. If the player hits, a chart is used to determine if the bank holds or takes a card.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the house payout 19 to 20 (equal cash minus a five percent commission. Commission are kept track of and cleared out once you leave the game so ensure you have cash left just before you leave). Winning bets on the gambler pays one to one. Winning wagers for a tie typically pays out at eight to one but sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a poor bet as ties happen less than 1 in every ten hands. Avoid wagering on a tie. Although odds are substantially greater for 9:1 versus eight to one)
Played properly baccarat offers generally good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Punto Banco Strategy
As with all games punto banco has a few established misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past isn’t a fore-teller of future outcomes. Tracking past results on a chart is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most familiar and definitely the most successful scheme is the one-three-two-six technique. This plan is deployed to build up winnings and limit risk.
Begin by betting one dollar. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a grand total of 3 dollars on the second bet. Should you succeed you will retain 6 on the game table, subtract 4 so you are left with 2 on the third round. If you come away with a win on the third wager, deposit 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th round.
Should you lose on the first wager, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the 1st bet followed by a hit on the second creates a hit of 2. Wins on the first two with a defeat on the third provides you with a take of 2. And success on the 1st 3 with a hit on the 4th means you are even. Winning all four bets gives you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you are able to not win on the second wager 5 times for each successful run of four rounds and in the end, are even.
