Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than 10 are said to be at their printed number while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they just appear as the 2 hands to be given out).
2 hands of two cards are then played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for every hand shall be the grand total of the two cards, but the very first digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven … five will have a total of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card may be dealt depending on the foll. practices:
- If the bettor or banker has a tally of 8 or nine, both gamblers stand.
- If the gambler has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay out nineteen to twenty (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have money left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie commonly pay out 8 to 1 and sometimes nine to 1. (This is an awful gamble as ties will happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. However odds are appreciably better – nine to 1 versus 8 to 1)
When played effectively, baccarat offers fairly decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with most games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is never actually a predictor of future results. Staying abreast of last results on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most common and possibly most successful strategy is the one-three-2-six scheme. This method is employed to boost wins and limiting risk.
start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the third bet. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth wager.
If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
