Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are of face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they merely portray the 2 hands to be played).
Two hands of two cards will now be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand shall be the total of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven and five gives a total score of 2 (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A third card might be played depending on the following guidelines:
- If the gambler or banker has a total score of 8 or 9, both players stand.
- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the 2 scores wins. Successful bets on the banker payout 19 to twenty (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have dollars still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winner bets for tie generally pay eight to 1 and on occasion 9 to 1. (This is a crazy gamble as ties will occur less than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from wagering on a tie. Still, odds are somewhat better – nine to one vs. 8 to one)
When played effectively, baccarat offers relatively decent odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with all games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future results. Monitoring of last conclusions on a chart is for sure a total waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most established and possibly most successful strategy is the one-three-two-six concept. This technique is used to increase profits and minimizing risk.
start by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth bet.
If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
